When can I access my super? All conditions of release explained

There are strict rules on when and how we can access our superannuation, referred to as the conditions of release. This webinar will take you through each of these conditions of release and highlight how you can use them to your advantage!

Q: We are dual citizens (UK/Australia), and we intend to move back to the UK and are not at pension age. Would we still be entitled to the Australian age pension?

A: Unfortunately, Australia and the UK do not have a bilateral social security agreement at this time, so it is not possible to apply for the Australian pension from the UK.

The agreement ended in 2001 due to UK Government policy. You can read more here.

To apply for an Australian Age Pension, you would need to be a permanent resident in Australia at the time of your application. If you return to Australia from overseas to claim entitlements, the Pension will stop if you move back overseas within two years of returning to Australia. You can read more about it here.
