ElectricSuper is a profit-to-members superannuation scheme for employees in the South Australian electricity supply industry and their spouses. It was founded on the privatisation of the Electricity Trust of South Australia (ETSA) and is established under the Electricity Corporations Act 1994 (SA). The trustee is the Electricity Industry Superannuation Board.
The fund traded as EISS until 2019, when it changed its name to ElectricSuper. It is not connected to the former EISS Super, a New South Wales fund that merged with Cbus Super in May 2023.
As an exempt public sector superannuation scheme, ElectricSuper is not regulated by APRA or ASIC and does not appear in APRA’s fund-level superannuation statistics.
